Last April 21, the three-part GLP Lecture Series opened with a lecture by Dr. Masayoshi Okabe (Saitama University) entitled, "When Social Norms Meet Structural Contraints: Economic Perspective on Reversed Gender Disparities in Education and Development in the Philippines."

After Dr. Okabe's presentation, GLP students asked their questions and engaged him in a conversation about economic development and his fieldwork in the Philippines.
