English Education in Japan: Learning through Debate
As part of GLP Lecture Series, students of the Planning and Implementation class have organized an event on English education in Japan.

This event will explore key issue in English education and highlight the importance of debates as a tool for learning. It will also show a model debate by university students.

Lecturer Introduction

Erika Azegami is currently working at Nihon University as an English language teacher. Her research focuses on student's perspective of English as a medium of instructions (EMI). She hold a master degree from Graduate School of International Culture and Communication Studies, Waseda University.

Amane Kawano is teaching at Seiko Gakuen Junior and Senior High School. He got two master degrees by studying critical thinking and debate for English education. He was also a member of the debate club in Sydney University. Now he serves as an instructor for the ESUJ to promote debate as an English education.
